In less than an hour it will be 8:46 AM, Eastern Time. Six years ago the first terrorist-controlled plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Besides the 2,948 that died on that fateful day, we need to also remember the heros who followed them.
Since the start of the Global War on Terror, the Pentagon reports 33,489 casualties in Operations Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Iraqi Freedom through September 1, 2007. Of those, 3,734 US military personnel died in OIF and 434 in OEF.
